Pakistan is a country rich in talent, resilience, and ambition. Yet, poverty continues to limit choices for the families across the country. Bright young minds confined by circumstances they never chose.
Take example of a talented girl in rural Sindh who dreams of becoming a doctor but can’t afford school, a child in Karachi determined to lift his family out of poverty but no clear pathway to acquire a decent job, or a young man from the towns of Peshawar who's never had the chance to discover he's a natural programmer
This gap between potential and opportunity is one of the greatest challenges we face today.
Pakistan has a very young population, with 67% (over 167 million) below 30 years of age, making it one of the youngest populations in the world. Within this group, almost 26% (around 65 million people) are aged 15–30. After accounting for graduates, there remain approximately 58 million young adults who are potentially skillable, representing both a major challenge and a golden opportunity for Pakistan.
Remittances have emerged as a critical source of external finance, growing faster than Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Official Development Aid (ODA) in the past decade. While remittance inflows have increased significantly in several countries and grown at strong double-digit annual rates, Pakistan continues to trail countries such as India and the Philippines as a major manpower source.
Hunar focuses on skills that lead to real livelihoods, reaching those who are willing to learn but lack access. Instead of short-term relief, we equip the youth with capabilities they carry for life. Every trained individual add value beyond themselves, creating ripple effects that uplift households and strengthen communities.
